Happy (Late) Chinese New Year!

Yes, I’m quite late XD It’s the last day of the Chinese New Year already, as a matter of fact :P

Somehow, this year, I’m not as compelled to take photos of my Chinese New Year celebrations this year as compared to the last :P It’s not to say that there’s no spirit of celebration this year- there is- in fact, I’m very excited about this year’s celebrations compared to the past few years. No idea why, though D: Maybe it’s because we do go through the similar routines every year- temples for prayers, a lion dance/open house, visiting relatives, etc so it’s nothing particularly special :) I did enjoy myself this year around because dearest Louis is here, as well as getting to spend time with my parents :D

Dearest’s first Angry Birds bulk has finally arrived safe and sound, and I have possession of my red Angry Bird plushie :D It’s really worth the price (It’s pricey to some) because of the make and quality- very soft and snuggly and high quality :3 And reasonably big, too, for 8″- it fits nicely in the palm of my hand in a “I want to throw it at something” way XD

Dearest is currently running his second bulk order for the Angry Birds- this time not only the bird plushies but also the pigs and keyrings, and he intends to keep ready stock for it after the second bulk. For more details you can check out his selling thread here :) Please support! He’s currently the only one who’s bringing in the original Angry Birds merchandise in Malaysia, and demand is growing stronger. We’ve seen fakes abound recently, and I can personally assure you they are NOTHING like the original ones- the fakes are, well, cheap and obviously fake. Bad quality, bad material and does not look a thing like the original ones other than semblance. In other words, badly made copies and really not worth the cheap price tag :\

I’ve blown my budget (And most of my Chinese New Year angpao money) on getting this latest addition to my bag collection:

It’s my most expensive bag thus far, retailing at RM 749, from Fossil >_> It’s very worth the hefty price tag though- since it’s leather, very spacious and large (From the details about the bag here, the dimensions are 15″L x 5 1/4″ W x 9 3/4″H), and will definitely come in handy when I study in Singapore XD That’s the main reason I got it, really. The quality is really excellent- the bag is slouchy but at the same time retains its shape, though it’s a bit too large for me at the moment and being leather, slightly heavier than what I’m used to. I bought it from the outlet in 1 Utama as dearest and I always drop by there to see bags and/or wallets, and are considered “regulars” :P

I am also currently obsessed with browsing Etsy, but having bought the bag is stopping me from buying things there :P I really like handmade stuff, and love browsing around… and I am very interested in this as well as silk scarves at the moment @_@

I am off to have dinner with dearest! ♥ Happy Chap Goh Mei to those who celebrate it :D

It’s The End Of January Already?

Feeling: Languid
Weather: Rainy
Listening To: Santana Featuring India Arie And Yo-Yo Ma- While My Guitar Gently Weeps

… And before we know it, it’s already the end of January 2011. One more day, actually. Apologies for the lack of updates the entire month- I’ve been busy :s

Chinese New Year, otherwise also known as the Lunar New Year is near- on the 3rd February actually, and I’ve been feeling the festivities :D

First, earlier this month, from the 4th January to 8th January I’ve been to Labuan- the island where I grew up, along with dearest Louis and Mum :3 I kind of miss the place to be honest- the lifestyle is very laid back and the beaches are pretty (But the sand on the beaches are coarser compared to, say, Langkawi)… though shopping-wise I’d say it’s hell because there’s barely anything of note, unless you count liquor/alcohol, cigarettes and cars (Being a duty-free island)… and oh, chocolates of course! To debunk a myth that I see nice expensive sports cars on a regular basis in Labuan… well, there is no point in getting one really, unless you regularly drive to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, since Labuan is so small, you can’t really maximise your sports car :P

It’s dearest’s first time going so far, and I’m really happy he got to accompany me on this trip :3 He enjoyed it too, thankfully, though I wish we had slightly more time to explore the island more. It just doesn’t feel enough to show him all the places!

The rest of my January 2011 so far

Goodbye 2010!

Feeling: Peckish
Weather: Cold
Listening To: Red Hot Chilli Peppers- Under The Bridge

Another year is ending, and another new year is dawning on us…

The year 2010 has been a bit of a blur for me to be honest, especially the first few months- I spent quite some time wondering what I’ve been doing but can’t think of anything specific and really really memorable, but I wouldn’t say it has been a bad year overall :)

My brief year in review, hopes, worries and wishes

Merry Christmas

Feeling: Ache-y
Weather: Rainy
Listening To: Far East Movement Featuring Snoop Dog- O.M.G (If I Was You)

To everyone who celebrates it, a Merry Christmas, and to those who don’t, happy holidays :D It seems to be (Apart from New Year, that is) the only holiday in the world where a majority of countries celebrate it :P

Here’s this year’s Christmas decor for Mid Valley Megamall :) There was a Santa Claus in the middle there as I was taking this photo, hence the amount of people XD It’s quite pretty, too bad I was at the second top floor while taking this photo- it’s not that very clear ;(

This is for Tropicana City Mall, taken after closing hours when dearest Louis and me were waiting to watch a movie there- dearest brought me to watch Tangled and it was awesome :D It has been so long since our last late night movie date!

This year I’ll be attending Christmas mass with dearest and his parents later, and tomorrow afternoon will be having Christmas lunch with them as well as my Mum and little brother. This is the first time I’ll be celebrating Christmas with dearest and his parents, as last year they were still in Sibu, Sarawak :)

Also, Mum was ill, and dearest’s mother made tong yuen for us instead for the Winter Solstice Festival last Wednesday! It was quite yummy- though I personally don’t take much of it… but it’s a once a year treat and part of our Chinese culture and tradition so yeah :P

The normal tong yuen :3 I think I don’t really like tong yuen because of the ginger-based soup (I dislike ginger) and the stickiness of the glutinous balls… but this was all right. Just nice :D

Bigger tong yuen with peanut filling :9 I like this one more, but it’s stickier D:
