Unveiling… Project Vector!

Feeling: Accomplished, Stress-Free
Weather: Warm
Listening To: Guns N Roses- November Rain

Yeah, it’s what I’ve been Tweeting about lately, a new look for the blog :P

Why Project Vector? It’s because I got the template from here (As I’ve done for my past 2 layouts actually), and it’s named Vector Art XD Of course, I customise my layouts according to my wants and needs, and gave them a new name, though I still do acknowledge where my layout(s) come from and give credit where it’s due.

I’ll be doing a few more tweaks and all, not coding-wise but content-wise such as the pages, especially to the album, which really really needs updating >_>

I might be temporarily deaf after tomorrow’s concert :x

So… feel free to leave any comments regarding the new layout XD

Lesson In Stress Management

Feeling: Groggy From Lack Of Sleep
Weather: Sunny, Unfortunately
Listening To: Nothing At This Hour

Picture yourself near a stream. Birds are softly chirping in the crisp, cool mountain air. Nothing can bother you here. No one knows this secret place. You are in total seclusion from that place called “the world”. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity. The water is clear.

You can easily make out the face of the person whose head you are holding under the water.

Copied directly from Uncle John’s Absolutely Absorbing Bathroom Reader by The Bathroom Readers’ Institute.

Despite the cheesy/corny/lame name, the books are actually good and interesting and it takes me ages to finish one @_@

Sleepy ramblings.

Am trying hard to reduce the amount of stress I experience as it’s been wrecking havoc on my skin :\ Also making adjustments to my skincare routine to the “less is more” approach, but it’s been a bit hard since I’m usually rather paranoid and thorough, so cutting things out makes the routine feel “incomplete”… but it’s for my own good, and I’m really hoping it would help! XD A facial might help- either from Dermalogica- or Cellnique-based salons, or 128 Faubourg, since my skin seems to calm down after a session, even though the problem (Usually pimples) has been there for quite some time and has been resistant to whatever treatments I apply to or use on it D: It’s the power of touch! Or a massage. Or relaxation. Or all of the above :P

Aaaaah Slash’s concert on Thursday! So excited!

Might be going down to Singapore from 17th August to 21st August for a holiday with dearest Louis and Mum. Maybe before that or after I will unveil Project Vector. We shall see~

Note: Never accidentally drink ginseng before bed. I ended up tossing and turning all night and only got about 2 hours sleep because my part-time maids are here at 8 am. Le sigh.

What’s In My Bag?

Feeling: Crampy
Weather: Cool
Listening To: My Chemical Romance- To The End

Well… since I’m home for the whole day today (Part languishing, part helping to do some chores and part recuperating since I have the cramps) and dearest Louis won’t be home so early since he has his weekly meeting after work… I figured might as well :P

I admit, I do have a lot of bags (I am one of those who love bags, unfortunately >_>), but I’m going to just showcase the one I’m using frequently at the moment and what’s usually inside of it.

My current bag is the Lowepro Terraclime 100 in Plum :3

Before this I was using a bespoke black leather bowling bag from a Danish brand called Cottonfield, but shoulder bags are beginning to take their toll on my shoulder… so I was on the lookout for a sling bag that isn’t too big like most messenger bags, nor do I want a small one… until I remembered that dearest after all, sells Lowepro bags, and that the Lowepro Terraclime 100 is made of over 95% recycled materials and part of its proceeds goes to Polar Bears International (Bears!) :D To be honest I’ve always wanted one (But didn’t need it at that time), and in my search for a sling bag I forgot about it until one day it just popped back into my brain @_@

Hanging on the side of the bag is a wooden keychain carved with dearest’s surname as it is in Chinese (梅) and my beloved CoachS” bag charm- one of my first designer buys!

The Lowepro Terraclime 100 open. It’s a lovely, sturdy fabric bag on its own (Not too slouchy, not too stiff!), and the purple colour is unique! I normally prefer black (Occasionally, brown or white), but this colour really stood out for me, more so that the stain-resistant black colour XD The insides are vivid green as pictured, which makes it pop further. The gear wrap the bag came with is in the same green colour and is well-padded and made, but obviously I am not using it, so it’s stored safely with my Cottonfield bowling bag. My HTC Hero phone usually goes into the left pocket in front.

A close-up view of the insides. It’s just the right size for all my necessities, really! Any more and it wouldn’t fit, unfortunately.

Generally these are all I need for my day-to-day activities, every day. If I need to take photos I carry my Panasonic Lumix LX-3 camera separately (In its vintage-looking brown leather case, and it has a neck strap, a wrist strap and a carabiner), and if I go to University I carry a separate lightweight, cotton book bag (Bought by dearest!) with my notebooks, textbooks and pencil case in it.

What’s usually in my Lowepro Terraclime 100 bag- medium-sized LeSportSac cosmetic pouch which contents will be showed later, Braun Buffel bifold wallet (I forgot which collection these two items came from already, sadly T_T) which contains my money, credit/debit/bank cards and identification, Guess Osaka checkbook clutch wallet which contains all my loyalty and membership and other miscellaneous cards, Longchamp inspired coin purse and Ray-Ban RB3211 aviator shield sunglasses in it’s protective case.

What’s inside the LeSportSac cosmetic pouch- tissue paper, a bottle Dettol hand sanitiser, RohtoC Cube eyedrops, a compact mirror, Badger Balm Organic Lip Balm Stick in Tangerine Breeze and Dermalogica Climate Control Lip Treatment. Occasionally there’s some Strepsils, Ricola or breath mints in there, but not pictured XD

Contrary to its name I do not generally carry my makeup and/or cosmetics around >_> I’m a little OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) about hygiene and scratches, and wouldn’t want my applicators and/or sponges to be contaminated or the cases to bear even tiny little scratch or scuff marks :x Plus, I technically don’t use a lot of makeup- only face powder and the occasional eyeliner (Plus mascara for formal occasions), so there’s no need for me to touch up anyway :D

So… yeah… that’s basically what’s in my frequently used bag. Wow, that was not as climactic as I expected or hoped it’d be, though, but still, it was worth a post and a good way to while away the time :P

Dearest also sells bags from Acme Made (Lovely and of extremely high quality, but they’re expensive!) and KATA, as well as other camera accessories such as tripods from Manfrotto and whatnot. You may check out B.Y.O. Ventures if you’re on Facebook or search dadarouch for his sales threads if you’re on the Lowyat.NET Forums :D Come on, support this young entrepreneur! XD

And no, I did not get this bag for free, nor was it sponsored for this article XD Though I do wish!

Whimsical

Feeling: As Per Post Title
Weather: Raining With Thunder And Lightning
Listening To: Prince- Kiss

Whimsical. adjective: determined by chance or impulse or whim rather than by necessity or reason; “a capricious refusal”; “authoritarian rulers are frequently capricious”; “the victim of whimsical persecutions” [syn: {capricious}, {impulsive}]

Perhaps it is the rain pitter-pattering outside my window, the thunder rumbling and the lightning flashing, but the word is strongly in my head right now. Don’t really know why, though @_@

Anyway, pretty much spent the whole of yesterday with dearest Louis :D He managed to get a whole day off… to attend the Malaysian International Toy Fair, held at Mid Valley Megamall‘s exhibition centre.

We arrived at Mid Valley Megamall around 12 noon… just in time for the vast and empty season parking areas to be opened to public, mwahahaha :D We headed over to the exhibition centre after lunch at Nando’s (I’ve been craving them for ages!), paid the RM 3 (Each) admission fee and went inside. It was a small section of the whole exhibition centre, though, shared with a wedding fair on the opposite side (Tempted to go!) and a kiddy-ish nutrition fair beside it. Again, I forgot my Panasonic Lumix LX-3 :(

The stickers we were given upon paying the admission fee, which we stuck to our clothes to be admitted XD

Thoughts and impressions on the Malaysian International Toy Fair: While it is not as grand or large as expected, it’s pretty good for an attempt at a toy fair, especially here in Malaysia. There were impressive models (The action figure kind), mainly from the Iron Man movies and the Gundam figures were quite affordable. The booths and layout were well organised as well. However, it’s just not comprehensive enough, like it’s lacking a lot of things that could make a toy fair more interesting. Also, at the time dearest and me were there, the cosplayers were just getting ready, so I was spared the eye-torture XD There was, however, one very prolific cosplayer, I’m sure those who attend know who and/or what I’m talking about. I only know she’s known as Joanna. One thing I disliked was the online game community D: It was all… well… Chinese online games/MMORPGs. Where are the good English ones? T_T

Then we went shopping- the whole of Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens Mid Valley and later Empire Shopping Gallery. We adjourned to Empire Shopping Gallery as an afterthought because Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mid Valley tend to be very, very packed during the weekends, which I really dislike @_@

Hauled back a new book and the latest issue of Cleo magazine from Borders, Clarins UV Plus Day Screen High Protection SPF40 PA+++ in the tinted shade from Isetan, a striped bodycon tank dress from Tangs (Finally, something that fits!), T. LeClerc Pressed Powder in Banane from Ken’s Apothecary (The only sole seller of the brand in Malaysia!) and some other un-photographed essentials ;D

It feels like it’s been so long since I spent a whole day with dearest like this! @_@ I said it feels like it, because we do spend time together on his off-days going shopping or window shopping, but not a whole day though, since we usually have some other things to do first XD We unwound at night by watching a DVD… it’s just so blissful spending time and being with him ♥

Looking forward to a facial sometime next week :( I really need to get an extraction- I’ve got a few pimply-feeling bumps on the left side of my face that’s not immediately noticeable, but otherwise I can feel it. My skin is just super-stressed, because no matter what I do or apply, it seems to not be getting any better, so perhaps a nice relaxing facial would calm it down a little D: I should also stop reading so much into ingredients and being so paranoid- what works, works, and what doesn’t just doesn’t. End of story >_> The only thing I care about at the moment are how natural the products potentially are (Though we can’t avoid every single “bad” chemical on the list), and animal testing. Right now, everything I use on my face are free from animal testing :D

P.S. I hate blogs with embedded music. Like, really hate. I hate having to find where the hell that damned player is and click on “stop” or “pause”. Argh. Doesn’t help that 99% of the time it’s playing some overplayed pop song or some J-pop/K-pop song sigh =_=
