Current List Of Obsessions

Feeling: Refreshed
Weather: Cool
Listening To: The Band Perry- If I Die Young

I realise that I do go through random obsessions that last for a period of time before petering out… and may or may nor come back depending on what it is :P

Right now, my obsessions are, in no particular order:

1. Signed books
- I’ve got two so far now- one from my “master” Joey Yap, who I learn Chinese metaphysics (Feng Shui, Ba Zi/Eight Characters and Mian Xiang/Face Reading) from (Though he only personally taught Mian Xiang/Face Reading when I attended, but the syllabus is all under him) and one from fashion photographer Nigel Barker (Pictured). I got my personal Ba Zi Day Master book signed by Joey Yap when I attended the Mian Xiang/Face Reading in June, and the Nigel Barker book was a gift from dearest Louis :) He went back all the way to Kinokuniya in Suria KLCC (When we went there earlier) to pick up the book when he heard that there are signed copies for sale there and we don’t live nearby!

There’s something personal about these books, though they don’t have my name written on them- and I feel like getting my hands on as much signed books as I can… though obviously books I read and authors I know and enjoy their work :P I’m also considering getting a signed book from A. Samad Said, the Malaysian National Laureate.

2. Teas from Chatime/Gong Cha
- Chatime and Gong Cha is basically two different Taiwanese bubble tea outlets, but I absolutely LOVE them both. I crave them at odd times, and the fact that they’re slightly inaccessible due to proximity problems makes it even worse :( There’s a Chatime very near where I stay but there’s major accessibility problems there too. I love Chatime‘s red bean milk tea (Left), which has red bean and “pearls” (I love red bean!), and Gong Cha‘s Signature Milk Oolong Tea (Right), which has nothing physical in it but tastes so smooth and divine. I love them both without ice, as I can slowly take my time to savour them without the ice melting and diluting the drink :P In terms of tea quality though I really prefer Gong Cha. Mm, just thinking about them now makes me thirsty for them :9

3. Kinokuniya
- I love books, there’s no doubt about it. Kinokuniya is one of the largest bookstores in Malaysia, with a selection of books that, in my opinion, trumps Borders, MPH and Popular (Although I love Borders and MPH too). This is my book heaven and I can easily spend a whole day here :x And every time I go there, I’m bound to come out with an average of at least 3 books :P It’s not always that I get to go to Kinokuniya because it’s located in Suria KLCC which is rather far from where I live, and that is what makes me more obsessed with it compared to the other bookstores :P

I’m Still Alive!

Feeling: Happy
Weather: Cold
Listening To: LMFAO Featuring Natalia Kills- Champagne Showers

Yeap!

Just came back from the 35th Bon Odori 2011 festival with dearest and couldn’t be happier :) I’ve been quite busy (As usual) with my application to Nanyang Technological University Singapore and work (Am helping Dad), so blogging is currently taking a back seat although I really have things to write about! Hopefully things will start to peter out (Fingers crossed) so I can dedicate some time to updating, yes? :)

Oh, and since I’m not a fan of a lot of word-only posts (Without any pictures/photos) on my blog particularly, I’m going to include this because it amuses me A LOT haha:

It’s from Obsessive Corgi Disorder. And thankfully, my corgi isn’t like that XD

Just A Short Note…

Feeling: Exhausted
Weather: Neutral
Listening To: One Republic- Secrets

… to say that I’m still alive :P

June has been a very busy month for me in a way. From 2nd June to 6th June I was in Miri, Sarawak to attend a foster sister’s wedding, and then from 6th June to 12th June I was in Labuan. Then after a week’s of (Not so) rest, it was Singapore from 20th June to 23rd June, and then my Mian Xiang (Also known as Face Reading) course with Joey Yap from 24th June to 26th June. So yeah, I’ve been pretty busy and knackered and would probably need a few days to fully recover @_@

After this I’ll have to settle my University stuff- de-registering, getting references, transcripts, etc. for my application to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The term won’t start so soon- next year, really, but I’m fine with it as I get time to settle things such as accommodation, for one. Fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly though!

Also, another short note to say that I’m now offering BaZi and/or Mian Xiang (Either one, or both) consultations/reading, mainly in terms of what should one do and how to improve one’s self. It’s very useful as then one would know what should one do and be able to plan instead of drifting along and wasting time doing things that don’t match oneself, so to speak.

I strongly believe in forging one’s own destiny (As does Joey Yap and his instructors, which is always emphasised in all his classes), and these consultations/readings are merely a guide and/or indication of what and/or when to do something and how to improve. In the end it’s up to the person on whether or not he/she wants to change and/or improve. Value is another thing that’s always stressed in Joey Yap‘s classes- one should always strive to improve one’s value and make onself valuable. I don’t charge heftily (Though Joey Yap says I should, or else people won’t change), but a small token would be appreciated as according to the yin yang principles- I give (Information/Knowledge) and therefore I must receive. Plus, I do kind of need to survive and start some where, right? :P So do contact me if you’re interested and please spread the word along :D

To clarify though, your face is NOT the reason you’re having bad luck/your life overall sucks/you’re not successful. Your face merely indicates what’s happened, what’s going to happen as well as when things are going to happen, so no, changing your facial features isn’t going to help you. Just thought I’d make that part clear.

No, there’s completely no religious connotations, and neither is it superstition, just in case anyone wonders too :)

Will have a proper post up soon, too!

Long Overdue Post

Feeling: Bored
Weather: Sunny, Warm
Listening To: Panic! At The Disco- Ballad Of Mona Lisa

I realised that I haven’t posted a single entry for April :( Makes me feel bad, especially when I actually do have stuff to post about, but never gotten round to doing it :x

First things first, I believe that I can now say that I have completed my Bachelor of Psychology undergraduate studies in HELP University College. It feels kind of surreal, really, and part of me doesn’t feel like completing my studies (I want to take more subjects!), while the other part of me feels that enough is enough. Right now I’ll have to focus on my application for my postgraduate studies- get academic references and take the GRE, for instance, which are by far the more important ones (Since they involve other people and planning- my research proposal, CV and personal statements are personal, after all). I’ll need to study for the test >_> Although the intake for the Masters in Psychology in Nanyang Technological University Singapore (The University I am planning to go to and the course I’m planning to take- majoring mainly in Social Psychology but with emphasis in work/industrial/organisational psychology) is most likely going to start in August 2012 (Yes, more than a whole year away), I don’t want to slack D: Yet at the same time, it feels pretty stressful (Due to the difficulty curve and all), but I cannot avoid it and must face it T_T I’m both apprehensive and excited about all this at the same time @_@

So anyway… during my absence from writing, I have…

… gotten an Apple iPhone 4 (Thanks Dad :D), the 16GB model

… with an awesome black and red OtterBox Commuter case (Thanks dearest Louis :D). Although I am still not an Apple fangirl or covert, it is one of the best phones I’ve used and am happy with it :D

… bought myself a RM 500+ Bric’s X-Bag tote, which I’ve had my eye on since I read about it on My Women Stuff here. I bought mine from House of Leather in MidValley Megamall, though, and it’s really versatile. It can be both a tote and a sling bag, has adjustable straps and it’s not so heavy, which is perfect :P I really love bags, yes? Now I can rotate between this, my black Charles And Keith bag and my leather Fossil bag XD

… took an overnight trip to Penang with dearest and my parents, mainly to Kek Lok Si Temple, and pictured is the pagoda :) It was a nice trip, though I do wish we stayed longer!

… took a day trip to Malacca with dearest, Mum, my youngest aunt and a cousin (Who is in New York and back on his visit). I finally managed to get a customised nyonya kebaya set made this time, and at only RM 300 including the sarung it was really worth it, considering how ready-made nyonya kebaya hardly ever fits me. Can’t wait for it to arrive! Pictured is the sunset at the Straits of Malacca… and it looks eerily similar to Labuan :P

I’ve also switched from from using mainly Dermalogica for my face to Cellnique. I’ve been contemplating it for quite some time already actually since my cousin also owns a Cellnique salon (In Desa Petaling), but never got round to it because Dermalogica had been working fine for me… until they changed the Ultracalming range which I have been using for years to a new formula… and the new formula just doesn’t work for me =_= I’m so glad and happy Cellnique works for me :D I’m also dabbling with Creme de la Mer’s Skincolour de la Mer The Powder in 01 Creme (Huge jar but worth the price for a loose powder, really), and it has been good to me so far (It makes my skin look radiant and I’ve gotten compliments about how radiant my face looks too!), although it lacks oil control properties around my T-zone area but that’s nothing my trusty T. LeClerc Pressed Powder in Banane won’t fix, and I use less of it so it can last longer :) Just adds an extra minute or so to my morning routine though (Also due to the use of brush for loose powder), but still, it’s a win-win combination!

It’s also going to be a relatively busy period for me too- I’ll be travelling to Miri and then Labuan early June, and then will be going to Singapore. Busy times indeed, but since I have time to kill, I might as well travel as much as I can :D

Celebrated Mother’s Day and also my brother’s belated birthday (Which falls on 3rd May) on Saturday at the Sudu Restaurant Hilton Kuala Lumpur. I love my Mum, ’nuff said ♥

Dearest and I will be planning another visit to Tenshi No Cafe again soon, and will update when we do :P I’ll also try to update as much as I can because I have time now, but sometimes I just feel so demotivated and lazy~ :(

P.S. The next bag I am eyeing is Acme Made’s The Courier (Though unsure in red or in stripes) :D Dearest sells it too, BTW, and I am getting it from him of course XD
