The Worst 128 Faubourg Experience So Far

Feeling: Relaxed-ish
Weather: Neutral
Listening To: The Beatles- Twist And Shout

Update: My subsequent visit after this incident was on 13th January 2011, and I was attended to by the assistant salon manager (According to her name card), Stephy Tai. She was very good and professional, and I would say that it was the best experience I had- the facial was heavenly. I will definitely try to book her for my subsequent facials now. Also, I’m quite pleased to note that they seem to have a file on me right now, which is good.

In order to treat myself for the completion of my thesis (And the end of the semester bar final examinations) as well as to relieve stress, I booked myself to a facial treatment at my usual place- 128 Faubourg in 1 Utama yesterday.

Now I’ve always had a relatively good experience at 128 Faubourg in 1 Utama- I’ve always had my facials done there since I started getting back into facials earlier this year for the general health and maintenance of my skin and yesterday would have been my third or fourth time (If I remember correctly) there. I really liked the results of the facial treatments and the overall ambience of the place, especially the treatment rooms, and the fact that they are less pushy than some places I’ve been to and/or heard about.

Sorry for the long, ranty post ahead, especially if it doesn’t concern you :P

Linkin Park Gundam Collector’s Edition

Feeling: Half-Hyper Half-Tired
Weather: Cool
Listening To: The Beatles- Help

Guess what came in the mail on Monday, 29th November 2010? :D

I was woken up by dearest Louis around 10 a.m.+ for it because he was both excited to see me and also to show it to me XD And I wanted to sleep in because I was going to hand in my thesis later that day >_> It’s pretty exciting because Linkin Park is my favourite band ever and Gundam models are dearest’s favourite thing ever… so this is really an awesome mash-up and we pre-ordered it as soon as it was available for doing so :P It costs about 6068 yen, which is about RM 230 after conversion, and for a Gundam model and an album it was pretty worth it, considering it’s limited edition too.

So anyway, it’s the Linkin Park Gundam Collector’s Edition, which is available and shipped (For the pre-orders) on the 24th November 2010, but ours was apparently shipped on the 20th November 2010 according to dearest :D We were told it might take 12 weeks, but it arrived after 9 days… so yay! And normal mail too XD One of the back corners were squished up by the terrible handling, though :(

The box itself is nice, with the Gundam and an illustration of Linkin Park‘s band members :D No, that’s not a photo of them, but an illustration. Isn’t it just awesome?

Once the cover is lifted, it’s the A Thousand Suns CD. Now, being a Linkin Park fan, I’ve already bought the CD when it was out for about a week or so… so this is an extra XD The contents of the CD are pretty much the same with the one I have from what I’ve seen (Didn’t remove the CD from its wrapping and the box), with the only addition of the live version of the song the New Divide, which I am not so crazy about so I’ll just leave it as it is :P

Once the CD part is lifted, it’s the Gundam model part box :P It’s the standard Gundam model, apparently- the HG or High Grade version. According to dearest, Gundam models (At least from what I see here in Malaysia too) go from HG (High Grade), which is the standard one and the smallest; to MG (Master Grade), which has more complicated parts and is bigger; to PG (Perfect Grade) which is even more complicated and is the biggest scale of them all :o There are a few exceptions to this though, but that’s generally the gist of it.

The cover for the Gundam model part box is lifted… and we can see the manual/brochure and the parts :D So much small parts :x I’ll never be able to build one as I’m so clumsy… and even if I wanted to try, this is a limited edition one XD

This Gundam model is based on the RX-78 Gundam, which is a really classic Gundam model, but of course with the limited edition colouring and all, though this RX-78 Gundam is the newer version, not the vintage/classic version. The one on the manual/brochure here is the original colouration of the Gundam model we have :P

I’ll post more photos when dearest have begun to and/or finished assembling the Gundam :D It should be sometime after next month, hopefully, as he’s busy with assignments and all now, and assembling a Gundam model takes time and patience, which he can’t properly devote to right now due to his work and assignments. I’m pretty excited to see it :D

Ooooh it’s December already. How time flies eh?

Finals from 11th December 2010 to 15th December 2010 @_@

Being Thankful

Feeling: Calm, Accomplished, Happy
Weather: Rainy
Listening To: The Beatles- Boys

So it was Thanksgiving in the United States of America on Thursday, so I thought I’d take some time to reflect on what I’ve been thankful for so far:

1. My family- particularly Mum and Dad. I don’t need to elaborate more :)

2. Dearest Louis. It’s been 16 months since we’ve been together (And counting, obviously! :3) and I’ve never been a happier person. He’s completely self-sacrificing and works really hard to build a future for us despite our “young” age, and he’s also the most mature, most adorable person I’ve ever met and he never fails to make me feel better no matter what (Amongst a lot of other things too!) :) I love you my dearest bear hehe ♥

3. My life. And all the opportunities I’ve been given. I know it sounds a bit clichéd, but meh :P It’s true in a way- I should be (Or feel) lucky for and appreciate what I have. And I’ve slowly learnt to be over the years, and I’ve also learnt a lot- to be more patient, caring and understanding, to be less bad-tempered, etc.

4. Admittedly, I’m not really a “friend” person (Those who really are friends with me are usually very select and few and close), but in terms of this category this year so far it has been all right- nothing extremely negative has occurred, and it has been smooth and fun mostly, so I am thankful for that at least :) The people around me has made my life so far this year more good than bad in general (As I’ve also learnt to ignore/cut out/avoid those who are nothing but bad news), so yeah :P

I’ve finished my thesis on Wednesday, but the final edit was done last night :D I am so proud of myself! And this is after slogging away and late nights for more than a week (Though late nights because I couldn’t really sleep and might as well put my brain to work since it was feeling alert anyway) D: I’m apparently now 90 words over the word limit (12000 words >_>) but I like the way it’s been written and thus am not willing to compromise :(

The stack of papers that are my journals for thesis and two copies of my printed thesis (As required) :D My thesis, including all the required stuff and all the appendices, is 73 pages thick >_> They need comb-binding, indeed.

I also mourned the death of one thing (Right on the day I finished my thesis- Wednesday) and welcome a new one in my life (On Friday, 26th November 2010)- my watch. My limited edition Casio Cockpit Series G-MS analogue-digital watch of 6-7 years have died on me (Motor problem, apparently), and I had to get a replacement watch. I wear my watch 24/7 and it’s really awkward not to have one around my wrist, and my old vintage Charles Jourdan dress watch (Which I wore when I was a kid until about 10 years old!) didn’t really cut it as it doesn’t have a day and date display and it’s also not waterproof T_T

It’s a Seiko Criteria. Can’t find the official page for it apparently, as it’s supposedly Asia-only (The advertisements for it were done by Hong Kong actress Miriam Yeung). Though I nearly spazzed out of my brains when I found out that there’s a silver stainless steel with black bezel face version =_= But dearest tells me that the black stainless steel version (The one I have) looks better on me so it’s all right :) And Mum approves of it too, since it (Admittedly does) look rugged on me XD

I’m actually quite picky when it comes to watches- I really like the classy look of an analogue watch since I’m not a kid any more, but the ease and convenience of a digital watch, which explains my dead Casio watch :P Also, I like stainless steel watch straps because I wear it 24/7, so it’s the best for me. This is my first fully analogue watch, but it displays the day and date… so I’m fine with it since it fulfils my criteria (Pun not intended) :D And it’s also an upgrade for me- my first watch since I was about 10 years old was a Spoon digital watch (Which died), then a Timex Ironman digital watch (Which discoloured and the plastic/silicone strap kept breaking and cracking), then my limited edition Casio Cockpit Series G-MS analogue-digital watch and now a Seiko Criteria analogue watch XD

Before dearest and me settled on the Seiko Criteria, I had my eye on the Fossil Ceramic Black MOP Dial Watch as well, but it’s… well, ceramic, and there’s no guarantee it won’t break @_@ Plus, Seiko had been around for a long time and everyone I know who wears a watch on a really regular basis either owns or has own a Seiko, and it has a strong track record… so the decision pretty much made itself XP

Ah, HELP University College‘s 20th Psychology Research Colloquium was on Saturday, 27th November 2010, and me and my group (Consisting of Adrian, Jeihan, Wei Lyn and John) had to present for our PSY 304 Cognitive Psychology class. Jeihan, Wei Lyn and me also had to chairperson a few sessions for extra credit for the class since we needed the extra credit XD Guess what? My group won the best presentation for the venue @_@ Which is unexpected, since none of us really bothered about it and none of us expected it… so yeah XD Plus, I was also tired >_> It felt good, though, to have won something in colloquium :D

I’m also addicted to the song Boys by The Beatles. It’s so good and catchy and it’s now my HTC Hero‘s default ringtone! XD I also didn’t know of the existence of The Beatles cartoons until recently :( It’s soooo good.

I shall go sleep and hand in my thesis tomorrow, as well as go shopping with dearest :3 Today has been good with shopping with Mum~

The Last Time I…

Feeling: Accomplished
Weather: Rain
Listening To: Guilty Gear XX OST- Shade Celebration (I-No)

Taking a break from writing my thesis, which is due on the 29th November 2010 and also waiting for my latest batches of journals to be printed so it’s easier for me to refer to them, rather than on the laptop. I’m making good progress so far I might say, and let’s hope this keeps up! I feel so accomplished :D

Anyway, I’m borrowing this post from Tine, who in turn borrowed it from someone else, who borrowed it from someone else and so it goes on :P Is “borrow” the proper term? D:

So here goes:

The Last Time I…

… Was Jealous:

Truth be told, I get jealous of my former classmates for graduating early, or getting married, or even for things such as having the opportunity to be able to travel overseas. But I’m not that petty, and get over it pretty fast, because I know things happen for a reason and I’ll also have my chance soon mwahahaha :D

… Cried:

The same as Tine, the last time I remember really crying was watching that scene in Up of Carl and his wife. It’s just so beautiful and tragic and moving. Oh, and anything to do with animals makes me cry too :x

… Was Drunk:

Been high yes, but not drunk, because I hardly ever drink >_>

… Overspent:

I think it was last month… or was it 2 months ago? Either way, I’ve been quite thrifty especially since this month XD And of course, the largest amount of money I’ve ever spent in a span of few days was during my holiday to Singapore with dearest and Mum in August :P

… Was Inspired:

Thinking about it, I get inspired by little things- maybe a program on TV, a good book or even a magazine, or even a blog or website or a game. Sometimes my pet(s) inspire me too, or sometimes it could be some scent. In other words, I get inspired almost every day!

… Watched The Sunrise:

It’s been quite some time :( I’m not really a morning person… so yeah.

… Made A Huge Mistake Or Did Something I Regret:

Hmm. I really can’t remember. I do have things that I regret in life, obviously, but I don’t usually dwell on them. After all, like I said, things happen for a reason, so instead of hitting my head on the wall, why not I concentrate on getting over it instead? :)

… Listened To My Gut:

Always. Thing is, sometimes people just don’t believe me when I voice out my gut feelings about something :(

… Fell In Love:

11th July 2009 :P OK, that was corny, but the next answer will be too: I fall in love almost everyday with dearest Louis, and also with my life despite its ups and (Sometimes quite horrible) downs :D Can I say I fall in love with my pet(s) too? XD
